The Buffalo Bills will look to solidify the №2 seed in the AFC playoff picture when they visit the New England Patriots on Monday Night Football. The Bills (11–3) have been red-hot, winning four straight, and are coming off a 48–19 win over the Denver Broncos. The Patriots (6–8) have lost two in a row and had their streak of 11 consecutive postseason appearances come to an end. Buffalo is 4–0 this season against AFC East opponents.

Kickoff from Gillette Stadium is set for 8:15 p.m. ET. The Bills are seven-point favorites in the latest Patriots vs. Bills odds from William Hill Sportsbook, while the over-under is 46. Before making any Bills vs. Patriots picks, check out the NFL predictions from the SportsLine Projection Model.

The model, which simulates every NFL game 10,000 times, is up almost $7,900 for $100 players on top-rated NFL picks since its inception five-plus years ago. It is a sizzling 22–11 on top-rated NFL picks this season, returning over $800. The model also enters Week 16 on an incredible 118–76 run on top-rated NFL picks that dates back to the 2017 season.

The model ranked in the Top 10 on NFLPickWatch three of the past four years on straight-up NFL picks and beat more than 95 percent of CBS Sports office pool players three times during that span. Anyone who has followed it is way up.

Buffalo has posted its first 11-win season since 1999, and a major reason for that is the play of quarterback Josh Allen. In 14 games, Allen has completed 351 of 511 passes for 4,000 yards and 30 touchdowns. He has been intercepted just nine times and has a rating of 104.2. He has also rushed 96 times for 383 yards and eight touchdowns.

Also powering the offense is running back Devin Singletary. He had 84 yards from scrimmage, including 68 rushing and a TD against Denver last week. Singletary has registered 80 or more yards from scrimmage in three of the past four games. In the Week 8 meeting against the Patriots, he rushed for a season-high 86 yards.

Despite that, Buffalo is not a lock to cover the Bills vs. Patriots spread. That’s because New England has been in nearly every game this season and has four losses by seven points or fewer. Quarterback Cam Newton completed 17 of 27 passes for 209 yards and rushed for 38 yards last week at Miami. He passed for 174 yards and rushed for 54 yards and a touchdown in the Week 8 matchup against the Bills and has a 95 or better rating in three of his past four games on Monday Night Football.

Running back Sony Michel has 100 or more yards from scrimmage in two of three career games against the Bills. He has also rushed for a touchdown in two of his past three home games. In his only career game on Monday Night Football, he had a career-high three rushing touchdowns against the New York Jets on Oct. 21, 2019. Last week at Miami, Michel rushed for 74 yards.

With their first AFC East title since 1995 already secured, the Buffalo Bills (11–3) travel to Foxborough with their sights set on improving their playoff seeding in Week 16 when they take on the New England Patriots (6–8) on Monday Night Football.

The Bills, who have already secured their third trip to the playoffs in four seasons under head coach Sean McDermott, can wrap up the №2 seed in the AFC with a win over New England, combined with the Indianapolis Colts defeating the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Green Bay Packers beating the Tennessee Titans. The Bills would also have a more than 99 percent chance of securing the two seed with a Steelers loss and a Cleveland Browns win over the New York Jets.

Besides playoff seeding, the Bills have a chance to accomplish something they’ve never done since Bill Belichick started coaching the Patriots: sweep the season series. New England hasn’t been swept by a divisional foe since 2000, when both the New York Jets and Miami Dolphins accomplished the feat. Buffalo hasn’t swept the season series from New England since 1999.

Earning a win in New England would also give the Bills their first 12-win season since 1993, the last of their four straight Super Bowl appearances.

Quarterback Josh Allen, who has made tremendous strides in his third year as Buffalo’s starting quarterback, is looking to avenge his worst game of the 2020 season: Buffalo’s 24–21 win over New England in Week 8. In that game, the Bills prevailed despite Allen passing for 154 yards (second lowest total this year) with zero touchdowns and one interception. It was one of only two games where Allen did not throw for a TD, and the only game where he had more interceptions than touchdowns.

Allen (4,000 passing yards) needs 360 yards to eclipse Drew Bledsoe’s franchise record for passing yards in a season (4,359, set in 2002). Meanwhile, wide receiver Stefon Diggs (1,314 receiving yards) needs 55 more yards to break Eric Moulds’s record (1,369 in 1998).

The Patriots have already been eliminated from the playoffs and will miss the postseason for the first time since the 2008 season.

Monday’s matchup will be the 122nd all-time between the Bills and Patriots.

New England leads the all-time series 76–44–1, with Buffalo earning the win in Week 8 at Bills Stadium. Rookie Zack Moss rushed for two touchdowns, Allen rushed for a score, and rookie Tyler Bass kicked the eventual game-winning field goal with 4:06 remaining.

Cam Newton drove the Patriots to the Buffalo 19-yard line, but the Bills clinched the win when defensive tackle Justin Zimmer forced a Cam Newton fumble, which was scooped up by safety Dean Marlowe with 37 seconds remaining.

The last time the Bills won in New England? Oct. 2, 2016, when Dan Carpenter booted three field goals, Tyrod Taylor completed 27 of 39 passes for 246 yards with a seven-yard TD toss to LeSean McCoy, and Buffalo blanked the Tom Brady-less Patriots 16–0.

Buffalo is currently listed as a seven-point favorite. Here are all the ways to catch Monday’s game from home:

Monday nights primetime matchup will mark the sixth time both teams will appear in primetime in 2020. The Bills have won three of those previous matchups while the Patriots have won only two. The Bills also have a better record ATS at 3–2 compared to 2–3 and cashing the over three times while the Patriots have only done so two times.

According to the Football Zebras, referee Ron Torbert is assigned to this division matchup. Under head coach Sean McDermott, the Bills are 1–1–1 ATS and 1–2 on the over. The Week 6 matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs was refereed by Torbert and the Bills not only lost the game, but failed to cover the spread or cash the over.

In four Patriots regular season games under head coach Bill Belichick Torbert has been making the calls and in those games they are an impressive 4–0 in both ATS and the over. Additionally, they won all four of those games including a 2015 matchup versus the Bills. That day the over of 45.5 easily cashed with 72 points being scored.

In the 14 games in 2020 with Torbert as the ref the over is 4–10. Torbet has yet to officiate a primetime game in 2020.
