Jarrett Bailey writes: “Normally we are used to the Patriots having clinched the division and the Bills having nothing to play for at this time of the year. Oh, how the tables have turned. Buffalo is arguably the most complete team in the NFL at this very moment, and certainly the hottest. Josh Allen and the offense are in full swing and borderline unstoppable. The Patriots’ offense is whatever the opposite of unstoppable is. Cam Newton and company looked bad against Miami and have looked that way for the majority of the season. Losing this game would solidify the Patriots’ first losing season since Bill Belichick’s first season in charge, and I think we get that in blowout fashion this week, contrary to what the Week 16 NFL odds say.

Vincent Frank writes: “Back in Week 8, Buffalo disposed of the Patriots by the score of 24–21 in a tight affair in Western New York. More than anything, it was a still-impressive New England defense that kept that game close. Unfortunately for Bill Belichick and Co., Cam Newton’s struggles under center and a lack of skill-position talent has limited this team to just 21.3 points per game. That’s not going to cut it against Josh Allen and Buffalo in Week 16. The third-year quarterback continues to play out of his mind, tallying 38 touchdowns compared to nine interceptions on the season after a brilliant Week 15 outing against Denver. With Buffalo looking for a top two seed after clinching its first AFC East title and New England officially eliminates from playoff contention, I am not expecting a competitive affair.”

Oliver Hodgkinson writes: “Monday Night Football represents a genuine passing of the AFC East torch. The Buffalo Bills wrapped up the division title on Saturday night, whereas the New England Patriots miss out on a playoff spot for the first time in 12 years. Although Josh Allen had his second-lowest passing yard total of the season in the first game against the Patriots, it’s difficult to believe that Cam Newton and the New England offense can go toe-to-toe with the Bills.”

John Breech wrote: “The Bills have covered in six straight games, which is the longest active streak in the NFL. Although that makes them feel like a good bet, it should be worth noting that they always seem to struggle against the Patriots. They didn’t cover earlier this season as a four-point favorite in a 24–21 win. Since hiring Sean McDermott in 2017, the Bills have gone 1–6 straight up against the Patriots and 2–4–1 ATS. Josh Allen has also struggled, going 1–3 straight up. The Bills are 9–5 ATS on the season, which is tied for the second-best mark in the NFL.”ESPN: Bills have a 58.5% chance to win the game
The site’s Football Power Index gives the Patriots a 41.1% chance to pick up the victory.
