Jarrett Bailey writes: “Normally we are used to the Patriots having clinched the division and the Bills having nothing to play for at this time of the year. Oh, how the tables have turned. Buffalo is arguably the most complete team in the NFL at this very moment, and certainly the hottest. Josh Allen and the offense are in full swing and borderline unstoppable. The Patriots’ offense is whatever the opposite of unstoppable is. Cam Newton and company looked bad against Miami and have looked that way for the majority of the season. Losing this game would solidify the Patriots’ first losing season since Bill Belichick’s first season in charge, and I think we get that in blowout fashion this week, contrary to what the Week 16 NFL odds say.”

Sports Interaction: Go with the Bills to cover
Payton Matthews writes: “Last Monday game of the season. So rare to have the Patriots playing a meaningless game this late in any season, and they will finish with a losing record for the first time since 2000. Buffalo has clinched the AFC East but is playing for playoff seeding. The Bills go for the season sweep thanks to a 24–21 home win over New England in Week 8. Tyler Bass hit the winning field goal with about four minutes left.”

CBS Sports broke down the line for the game
John Breech wrote: “The Bills have covered in six straight games, which is the longest active streak in the NFL. Although that makes them feel like a good bet, it should be worth noting that they always seem to struggle against the Patriots. They didn’t cover earlier this season as a four-point favorite in a 24–21 win. Since hiring Sean McDermott in 2017, the Bills have gone 1–6 straight up against the Patriots and 2–4–1 ATS. Josh Allen has also struggled, going 1–3 straight up. The Bills are 9–5 ATS on the season, which is tied for the second-best mark in the NFL.”

ESPN: Bills have a 58.5% chance to win the game
The site’s Football Power Index gives the Patriots a 41.1% chance to pick up the victory.
